General FAQs

  • We understand that life can be unpredictable. However, to honour the time set aside for your session and respect our commitment to all families, we kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice for changes to your appointment or cancellations. Less than 24 hours' notice will result in the full session fee being charged.

  • Do you offer sliding scale?

    At our practice, we believe in ensuring accessibility to our services for all families. We reserve a limited number of spaces for sliding scale clients, which means we offer a flexible fee structure based on individual financial circumstances. This allows us to accommodate families facing financial constraints while still maintaining the quality of our services for all. Please reach out directly for more information.

  • Some extended benefits plans do cover Occupational Therapy services. Others allow for OT coverage through your health spending account. Please consult with your benefits provider to check your coverage. OT is covered through Ontario Autism Program funding.

  • We currently do not bill insurance companies directly. However, you will receive a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider or funding source for reimbursement.

1:1 Therapy for Kids FAQs

  • Each 1:1 session is $135

  • You can expect that it will look like play! There will be lots of movement, games, books, and activities, which will all be chosen strategically to work towards your child and family’s goals for OT. Most children look forward to coming to OT each week because it really is a lot of fun! Most parents also look forward to it because our work together helps them to feel more confident in their parenting skills.

  • Absolutely! We encourage one or both parents to participate in sessions whenever possible to maximize the benefits for your child and ensure consistency in implementing strategies at home.

  • Currently these sessions occur at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre’s Old Growth Forest, on the North end of Guelph.

Kids in the Woods FAQs

  • Some benefits plans do cover Group Occupational Therapy services, and others will allow you to submit for OT through your Health Spending Account. Please consult with your benefits provider to check your coverage specifically for group Occupational Therapy services. Be sure to do this prior to registration!

    Occupational Therapy services are eligible for Ontario Autism Program funding and Shannon Rolph Occupational Therapy is a registered provider through the OAP program

  • We find ways to have fun even in the rain and snow! The exception to this is dangerous weather (i.e. thunderstorms) or dangerous road conditions due to ice/snow.

  • As with most groups, sessions missed due to absence or illness are not eligible for a refund.

  • The total cost is $800 for 10 weeks of group OT sessions



    A $150 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking, and the remainder of the session fee is due 2 weeks before the group begins.

Parent Coaching FAQs

  • Parent coaching is a supportive partnership between you and a qualified professional (us!) aimed at empowering you with practical tools and strategies to navigate parenting challenges effectively. It provides personalized guidance tailored to your family's unique needs, helping you build stronger connections and support growth.

  • During parent coaching sessions, we'll work together to identify your goals and explore strategies to address them. Sessions are interactive and collaborative, offering a safe space for reflection, learning, and growth. Through insightful discussions and practical exercises, you'll gain valuable insights and skills to enhance your parenting journey.

  • Sessions are 50-minutes long and are typically scheduled on a regular basis, allowing for consistent support and progress. The frequency of sessions can be customized to fit your schedule and needs. Whether weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, we'll work together to find a rhythm that works best for you and your family.

  • Yes, parent coaching is offered virtually to enhance accessibility and flexibility for families. By offering sessions online, we remove geographical barriers, ensuring support is convenient and accessible from the comfort of your own home, workplace, or even your car!
